ENERGY STAR is the Environmental Protection Agency’s energy efficiency program for new residential construction. This program focuses primarily on energy efficiency through proper building performance and construction techniques.  ENERGY STAR qualified new homes are substantially more energy efficient than homes built to the minimum code requirements. Other options are available as additions such as the Indoor Air Package.  This program is a prerequisite for most of the green building programs.
